Revised Application - The CMP application has been revised to be more flexible and easier to accumulate points in Section E.  Industry Education and Section F.  MBBA-NH Participation.

Opt out of Course 1 and 2 - For those of you who have five (5) or more years of experience in the mortgage finance industry, you may now opt out of taking Course 1 and Course 2 by passing an exam worth 20 points, which fulfills Section E.  Industry Education.  The cost of the exam is $100.  Please contact the MBBA-NH office, if you are interested in taking the exam.  Click here to contact the MBBA-NH office for more information.

CMP’s will be awarded at the Annual Dinner in May 2008.

What is a Certified Mortgage Professional (CMP)?
A Certified Mortgage Professional is a designation bestowed upon a career-minded individual in the mortgage finance industry who has met the requirements of the CMP program.

Earning your CMP designation:
• Identifies you as a professional in the mortgage finance industry.
• Demonstrates your achievements and accomplishments.
• Acknowledges your interest in education, MBBA-NH participation, and membership in other organizations.

What are the benefits?
• The designation will attest to any industry employer that you are a knowledgeable residential mortgage
  lending professional.
• Earning your CMP will set you apart from your peers in the industry.

What is required?
The CMP program is based upon a point system. The points are determined by your individual:
• Work experience
• Education
• Professional designations
• Industry education
• MBBA-NH participation
• Membership organizations
• Other supplemental activities.
• MBBA-NH member recruitment

The designation is awarded to those professionals who accumulate a minimum 150 points.

How do I apply?
• Request a CMP application from the MBBA-NH office or download an application here.
• Review the point system to determine how many points you have earned.
• If you have earned 150 points, submit your completed application with a letter of recommendation
from your employer to the MBBA-NH office. Once your application is approved, you will be notified.
• If you have not earned a total of 150 points, please take the time to determine your strategy of how you will increase your points.  Should you take more educational seminars (20 points are the required minimum for Section E.  Industry Education) and/or join a MBBA-NH committee (40 points are the required minimum for Section F.  MBBA-NH Participation)?

Who is eligible?
MBBA-NH members with:
• A minimum of one year’s membership.
• Three years experience in the mortgage finance industry.
• A minimum of 150 points.

What is the cost?
There is a $150 non-refundable application fee.

How will my achievement be recognized?
• You will be recognized for your professional achievements at a special award ceremony at the
   MBBA-NH annual dinner in May.
• In addition, you will receive a Certified Mortgage Professional plaque and lapel pin.
• The letters “CMP” may be used after your name on your business card, identifying your designation.
